Yet somehow they managed to continue producing these works of art with top-level engineering. Ferrari is passion and beauty on wheels, it is the world's most famous car.
Today it stands as an epitome of luxury, speed and glamour, and the story behind Ferrari encompasses all those elements.
Enzo Ferrari, being himself a race car driver, was the founder of the world-famous brand, fueled by his passion and determination for racing cars. The journey started with him founding a racing team “Scuderia Ferrari” in 1929, which still exists today. Initially, it was a racing team for Alfa Romeo until Alfa had to withdraw following financial issues. The company expanded into road vehicles market, primarily to be able to fund its racing ventures, especially in Formula One where it was highly successful. In fact, Ferrari is the only team to have competed in the Formula One World Championship continuously since it was founded in 1950. Scuderia Ferrari also holds nearly every Formula One record.
The very well known Ferrari logo has a special story of its own, the black prancing horse on a yellow background used to represent a personal emblem of Count Francesco Baracca who was an Italian national hero and the best fighter pilot in World War I. After his death, his mother gave the emblem to Enzo with a suggestion for it to be the symbol for Ferrari. And so it was, with a slight change in background colour, going from white into a yellow-the colour of Enzo’s birth town Modena.
Ferrari has been one of the most influential automobile companies in the world, setting various trends in the industry and inspiration for many other great cars. Renowned for producing limited series of cars, constructed for speed and high performance which give exclusivity and unrivalled quality, there is also a Ferrari Tailor Made program which allows buyers to personalize every and each component of their car. The tailor-made experience happens at the factory in Maranello where customers can choose components such as livery colour, interior trims, finishes and accessories.
To add to the vast greatness of this masterful vehicle, there is a Ferrari theme park in Abu Dhabi, the biggest indoor theme park in the world, with the fastest roller coaster in the world and driving experience of Ferrari California.
For true Ferrari fans visiting Rome, there is a possibility of organizing a test drive tour. If you don't want to own it at least you can try it when in Rome....
